Dearest Heinz
I will miss you always till we meet again in the beautiful hairdressers in the sky. You were always so kindhearted and quirky. We would laugh endlessly at the craziest of things. This world has lost a true original and one of a kind today. The nightclubs the dancing and of course the Champagne. You always looked so handsome. Fly high my dearest friend. Love you to the moon and back. With Love and Light Tracey Lee (Aug 9, 2024)

Very sad to hear about the passing of Heinze.
Schumi Shapers was my very first highly successful and enjoyable biz venture in Australia - it was always a wonderful when my wife & I travelled to London or Germany to meet with Heinze. Over these last years it’s been so great to follow his Instagram posts and I was so looking forward to meeting with Heinze again on my next visit to London- you will be terribly missed by the hundreds of people who’s lives you touched. So many memories of sweet Heinz, and Gregor, making my hair look beautiful in the Pont Street salon. Proud to have been a Schumi girl and happy to have spent some special time with Heinz in the garden of the Chelsea Arts Club for my dad’s memorial last year. Heinz was the most caring and generous person. He gave unconditionally and was so lovely to me. I was happy to have visited him at Chelsea & Westminster Hospital recently, where he still joked and was giving me advice even though I came for him, not for me! Very hard to believe that he has gone. There will be a big gap in the energy in the Chelsea Arts Club. My thoughts are with his brother and all his family at this very, very sad time. Heinz, May flights of Angels sing thee to thy Rest. You will remain in our hearts. Love, Alexa xxx

Mr Schumi was our family hairdressers from the time I was a young child (3-4 y/o). He was always kind to us, cut hair excellently and always charged us whag we could afford. I’ll never forget his Birkenstocks and him eating oranges. I saw you last at M&S and I told you Mum was unwell too, you didn’t press for details. Rest in peace Mr Schumi, Mahame.

I met Heinz in the late 80s as a friend and then started to go in his Saloon. I remember he used to give as present a lot of bottles of shampoo and conditioner in all different colurs and his logo. I remember the lunches and dinner at the Arts Club and discussing art and geopolitics. He had an incredible curiosity on many different subjects which he wanted to share with others. Will miss him a lot, he presents an era that has gone. RIP Heinz and condoleances to your family and inner circle.

I was a house model for Schumi (in Yeoman's Row) in the 70s when I was in my early 20s. Long after I stopped modeling professionally and began making films, I continued to have my hair done by Heinz. The conversation was always as dynamic as the "coupe sauvage". When I moved back to the US after 20 years in London, I continued to visit every year. Friends I'd persuaded to go to Heinz for their cuts back in the day continued to follow him from location to location. I went back to see him last year and we had a wonderful reunion. He was 'sui generis' . I'm so sorry he's gone. The world needs his spirit and energy.

I am so very sorry for your loss. Knowing Heinz was an absolute treat and as a New Yorker I looked forward to every trip to London to see him and have a fabulous haircut. I planned extra trips to see Heinz and have a haircut. When asked, months after my last cut, who cut my hair I joyfully told everyone who asked about Heinz. I gladly brought my daughter to her first Heinz haircut when she was studying in London 2 years ago. He’s been warmly greeting me and giving me amazing haircuts since 1992. He is already greatly missed by his client and friend, “Mary from Morgan Stanley.” 💔

dear family heinz was a longtime acquaintance we have come to see him in london enjoyed his hairstyle and his style in general his paintings were outstanding not only in the sense of art but also in transporting messages of his own personality we had a lovely telephone conversation with him in may and although he was very outspoken about his situation in hospital he still showed much interest and strength he mentioned that he wanted to return to kaernten homeland for his death maybe he managed to find peace he was a hearty and outgoing personality we are very sad to getting these news and we will miss him so much please give him his home in his homeland much love from toni and waltraut from vienna ps: maybe we will get your news.....

My deepest condolences to the Schumi family. I was friends with Heinz for almost 40 years since the days of the Bank nightclub where we spent many nights eating, dancing and having fun. He was intelligent, generous, amusing, talented and definitely original. I always told him how handsome he was with his lovely hair and face, and he looked far younger than his years. I was extremely fond of him and will miss him terribly, and South Kensington will never be quite the same without our lovely Austrian. May you rest in peace darling Heinz 🙏🏻 ❤️. Love, Debra Barker x

Sorry for your loss. Sad news indeed. Always was lovely to run into Heinz at Chelsea Arts Club and seeing that smile. We were greatly shocked and saddened to learn that dear Heinz has died. Like many of us who had our hair cut by Heinz, you didn't just get a hair cut - you got a proper education about all kinds of interesting subjects and left not only feeling fab about your hair, but generally enriched for having spent some time in his presence. He cut my hair for many years when I lived in London and subsequently irregularly since I moved away. You always got a wonderful welcome no matter the gap between visits and he was genuinely interested in what all the family were up to. The last time I saw Heinz, afterwards he took me to the CAC where he was obviously one of the key members - knew everyone and introduced me to one and all. He also had his diary open and would take bookings on the hoof. Not only was Heinz a man of many talents but a very special soul. Rest in peace charming, sweet, kind Heinz & sending condolences to all his family and close friends. XXXXX

I am so sad to hear that Heinz has passed away and want to send my most sincere condolences to his family, particularly to Gregor. my deepest condolences to Gregor and all the family of Heinz Schumi. I'm shocked by this sad news. I got to learn Heinz when I lived in London 30 years ago; finding out that he comes from the same beautiful region of where my mum comes from i.e. Lake Wörth Carinthia / Austria. I came by every Saturday for a chat to his barbershop in Chelsea and we went inline skating, dinner to many different places at Fulhalm road etc. what a great time it was and Heinz such a lovely person! What a sad coincidence that my mum died a few month ago too, as said Heinz and my mum grewing up literally only 5km apart from each other in Carinthia. I will always keep you in my memories and my heart. Love Roger
