Mr Schumi offers excellent services. His salon is friendly, efficient and very welcoming. You do not stand on ceremony here, you are treated with immediate friendship and can discuss all your hair concerns with Heinz, he is a world renowned hairdresser, who now likes a quieter life in a more informal atmosphere but his cutting skills are truly magic, his brother Gregor is also an excellent cutter and stylist. They are both excellent for men and women, in fact, many famous stars and models can be found sitting chatting to them mist days. Natali is an excellent colourist and is so quick it is a pleasure unlike a lot of colourists who take forever to finish! Heinz is just great. He's been looking after my hair for ages - longer than I like to admit, and has tremendous expertise in cutting and shaping. I learned from Schumi years ago that the secret of easy-to-look-after hair is clever cutting. I have been going to Heinz Schumi for over 35 years ... that should underline how much I value his haircuts. He is the kind of hairdresser where you can close your eyes and know that the hairstyle he does will be great. Moreso, its a haircut which lasts, so you don't need to rush back for a trim or reshape. His approach is personal so he cuts and styles your hair to suit your face and personality, unlike so many others who know how to cut a bob or whatever, but its not specific to who you are or what your 'look' is. I would highly recommend Heinz. He is also a person larger than life; friendly and welcoming. I recently had a hair cut by Mr Shumi and his staff. I cannot rate Vanilla Hair and Beauty highly enough! The haircut was first class and treatment lovely. This was an excellent way to spend an hour or two on a Saturday morning relaxing after a hard working week. Heinz and Gregor Schumi are both big players in hair grooming and styling for many years in Chelsea, Mayfair and Knightsbridge. Most of their clients have been coming to them for many years and this is not at all surprising as they are both big players and are leader in hair health, glossing, hydrating and cutting. I have been coming to them for many years and there is always a sense of feeling good in oneself after having my hair washed and styled and coloured. In general, Linda does my hair with Heinz doing the cutting and styling. Linda and Heinz are both very professional and on top of that they are very good hair and shoulder massagers! It is always a treat when Linda gives me the hair and head massage. One just feels so good and if you go in with a headache or a migraine this gets abolished after the head massage. The salon is very welcoming with a very good atmosphere. You get to meet all the regular clients and it just feels so homely. There is a sense of old school service provided by both the Schumis and Linda. Things may change over the years but remain prime quality. I first visited the place in the 80s when coming to London for business. At the time Heinz had his salon close to the Goring Hotel and I could walk over easily. He had already his firm place in the books of A-list hairstylists. I loved the experience of having my hair treated by him. Over the years he may have moved to other places, taken on a passion for painting water colours or acrylics, become the hairdresser of celebrities. He has not given up fighting property developers and investors defending the preservation of the mixed structure of Chelsea. When traveling abroad I need some times a haircut locally. My benchmark is my Vienna hairdresser. As I am sporting a very short cut, performed either with scissors or clippers this drives from time the sweat on the forehead of a hair stylist, the closer he comes to the skin. I first went to Heinz Schumi in the late 1970’s . He was famous for layering and cutting with both hands! I was twenty two with long straight hair. He layered it in such a flattering style that my own mother didn’t recognise me and was cross that my boyfriend was appearing on her doorstep with an attractive strange girl! Now years later I found Heinz again on Instagram. Again he has subtly restyled my shoulder length hair making it look younger and easier for my to blow dry myself. Schumi was one of the first hairdressers to understand complementary hair colours; he points out that whatever colour is used, it must enhance the person’s skin tone. After the 2 lockdowns, for the first time in my life I had long hair! It's honestly not the best look for a man of my uncertain(!) age, so yesterday I finally decided to get it cut short. Hey your in S. KEN in a fabulous old converted mansion. High ceilings, hypnotic light and the maestro commanding the floor. Being a professional painter/artist l don't like when those of little faith turn up at my studio and so l was not going to insult Heinz. This is not the village salon where the troops are ready to fry your hair on command. I came prepared, and what l left at home Schumi coaxed out of me. My best girlfriend in London insists that Heinz gave her the best haircut of her life. I turned up with drab, shoulder length hair that had taken a beating and l left with a pixie/urchin cut and my hair looked thicker. Melanie the Spanish assistant did a fantastic coloring job and she sported a gorgeous short cut. I took a leap of faith and l feel reborn. I shed my insecurities, the clock rolled back 10 years and l feel empowered. I'm thrilled cos now I'll have to come to London every 4 months. Life is good. Thank you Heinz I'm a very happy camper. I don't know how Heinz does it, but his superb haircuts actually put me in a positive mood every time, just seeing what he can do with what little hair I've got left. There is no comparison with the usual 'snip-and-go' High Street barber shops; on the contrary Heinz takes care about so many little details, it's a delight to watch. I have two sons, 10 and 15 years old, who are impossible to please when it comes to getting their hair cut. I took them both to see Heinz who patiently listened to what they wanted and explained step by step what he was going to do. The results were fantastic, both boys look great, appreciated having their opinions respected, and for the first time are really happy with their haircuts.
